Tall, fast, skilfull and strong, Draxler is very much a modern day winger, one particularly happy to play on the left so he can cut in on his stronger right foot to hit a shot. While he is a creative player who can create havoc on good days, his main strength is his goalscoring, which is decent for a player mainly playing on the flanks.

In fact, he is scoring at a rate of 1 in 3 for PSG, though it must be mentioned, to provide context, that they often face much weaker sides in Ligue 1 matches. However that has not stopped Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's goalscoring achievements from being recognised, so I fail to see why it should be used against Draxler either. Though he is a long way off either of those players!

This season has seen him lose his favoured left wing slot to Neymar Jr, little wonder, but that is as much down to the Parisiens inability to rely on his fitness week on week. Draxler does seem to be on the fragile side, with a tendency to miss games on a fairly regular basis.

Already he has missed 4 games, 3 due to injury and the weekend match with Dijon through flu this season. While he is no Darren Anderton, or to give a more recent example for the younger generation, Daniel Sturridge, he does seem to miss more than his fair share of games. A point not lost on the club, who are amenable to selling him.

Unfortunately those injury problems are the main issue to discuss when you mention him, as there are times you can see him hold back from using his pace to the fullest due to carrying a knock. It probably goes a long way to explain Arsene Wenger's longstanding interest in signing the German forward though, we all know he loves a player with a poor injury history!

At just 24, he still has age on his side and the chance to finally live up to his undoubted potential, as one of the biggest talents to emerge in Germany in recent years. That, I am sure, will ensure there are suitors for him if he does get pushed out of the door in order for PSG to pay for the Kylian Mbappe deal.
