As a youngster with Juventus, Kean burst on to the scene looking like a new superstar, but his star quickly waned and he struggled to nail down a place, hence the move to Everton. He never looked fully happy at Everton, while he still worked hard on the pitch, something that is a big part of his game, it always seemed like he was going through the motions to a degree.



The loan to PSG has gone a long way to reviving his faltering career. Whether it was a problem settling in England or that he just found it difficult to adjust to playing for a team that was not challenging in the Champions League or even for qualification after Juve, the loan to PSG has certainly given Kean a boost.



Almost totally right-footed, he has often been used to play off the left for the French team, as they look to use his power and pace to create problems for the opposition. To a large degree it can be said to have worked, 17 goals is certainly a decent return for a player who is playing third fiddle behind Neymar and Mbappe.



However, a lot of that can be put down to the weakness of opposition in Ligue 1, as Kean still shows so many weaknesses in his game. Yes he is fast and strong, technically very good and shows flashes of skill and can strike a good shot with little backlift.



The problems are that his link up play is, at best, weak. Partly down to Kean's poor decision-making, as he often chooses the wrong pass, playing teammates into trouble or giving the ball away needlessly with a loose pass.



His forward runs off the ball are something that really require work, as Kean tends to make the wrong run, often getting in the way on a break by running almost at the player on the ball. It is rare he offers himself for a ball played through, usually he is just content to go forward and make little attempt to do anything to create himself a moment of space.



There were numerous times he ran into the box at the back post and then he just stopped there waiting for something to happen. Even though most of the times there was a space for him to make a run into space at the front post, where a ball could be fed to him for an attempt at goal.



There is a lot of attributes there for Kean to become a top player, but he has little idea of how to move in the box and that will hold him back unless he learns how and when to run.
