When the name Adel Taarabt gets mentioned, there are a number of words that come to mind. Lazy, talented, sulky, show and pony are very much amongst them. Taarabt is an insanely talented player, who is now 30 years old and yet his career has been spent drifting from loan spell to loan spell.

As a youngster his talent was reminiscent of Ronaldinho, though not quite as good, but he sadly had all the worst aspects of Ronaldinho's personality with none of his redeeming features. Taarabt has the skill to beat a man on the dribble, with tricks galore and acceleration to get himself clear, though not the pace to get away.

It is not just getting past players that he can do, Taarabt has exceptional vision and range of passing and a thunderous shot. Unfortunately all that ability is in a package which spends most of his time sulking and rarely passes, instead choosing to shoot from ridiculous angles and distances.

On top of that, he is lazy and does little running, if any. When the opposition have the ball he is a passenger, of absolutely no use as he will be strolling around or standing still with his hands on his hips while his team-mates have to cover for him.

The fact that he has managed to get just 17 caps for Morocco speaks volumes for just how lazy, sulky and temperamental he is. The laziness spills over into training as well, Taarabt has had long periods of weight problems, with a belly that can be seen a mile away.

It is little wonder Taarabt has fallen afoul of manager after manager, which is why he had so many loan spells. He is simply put one of the biggest waste of talents ever to play the game and his career has been a shadow of what it should have been.
