General Comments:

To be perfectly honest, I personally don't rate Moussa Sissoko that highly. He certainly looks a decent player in general in the French league, but I feel that he is so inconsistent that he becomes rather frustrating to watch. Sissoko's the type of player where one minute he can make an absolutely dominating, defence-spillting run and score a wonder goal, and then just mere minutes later have such an abismal touch, no vision for a pass and just play with a very sloppy attitude. It's laughable at times.

One thing that concerns me in general, is that Damien Comoli (Liverpool's ex-director of football) told Sissoko's agent that he saw Sissoko as the long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard, and from the games i've seen of Sissoko, there is no comparisson between them. Gerrard is in an entirely different class to Sissoko, even when Gerrard is off-form. Perhaps I've over-exageratted in that respect, but I really can't see how anyone, let alone a DoF, can view Sissoko as the 'ideal long-term replacement' to a player of Gerrards quality.

However, in the interest of fairness, when Sissoko plays at his best, he is a damn fine player and can be very versatile in the middle of the pitch, whether its holding the midfield, shielding the defensive line, attacking, long range passes, or short range passes. But the fundamental issue is his level on inconsistency. If he played at his best at a consistent rate he'd be one hell of a player, and potentially one of the best midfielders in Europe. Luckily he is still young and does have some time to work on this issue, but it would take a lot of extra training, work and grit for him to do so. I personally hope he does this, as when watching him at his best, he is genuinely a joy to watch.

Summary of Sissoko:

Strengths - Versatility in the Midfield, Passing, Vision, Tackling, Pace, Control, Defensive Covering.

Weaknesses - Massively Inconsistent so makes the Strengths mentioned above void.

The Business End of the Profile.

As of this moment in time, it is by no means certain Sissoko will leave Toulouse, but if he does then I've been told that it looks most likely that Roma will get their man. I believe that any interest from Liverpool has faded out and has passed, and I cannot see them coming back in to sign him regardless of their previous interest.

Thanks all,
